Before Semicolon CMS Alerts SMS Terms
Effective date: July 31, 2026
These SMS Terms govern the Before Semicolon CMS Alerts text-message program (the "Program") offered by Before Semicolon LLC ("Before Semicolon," "we," "us," or "our"). These SMS Terms supplement our Website and CMS Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Program description
The Program provides optional transactional text messages concerning:
- mobile-number verification;
- account and security activity;
- subscriptions, invoices, and payment status;
- project requests and project status;
- publishing and deployment results;
- domain, hosting, and service status; and
- critical Before Semicolon CMS or notification-delivery issues.
The Program does not include marketing or promotional messages. Before Semicolon will obtain separate consent and update these SMS Terms before introducing any marketing program.
2. Enrollment and consent
You may enroll a mobile number through the Before Semicolon CMS or another enrollment method we specifically make available.
By affirmatively checking the SMS consent box, submitting the number, and completing number verification, you:
- ask Before Semicolon to send Program messages to the number provided;
- confirm that you are the subscriber, customary user, or otherwise authorized to consent for that number;
- consent to messages sent using automated technology where applicable; and
- confirm that you have reviewed these SMS Terms and the Privacy Policy.
SMS consent is optional, is not a condition of purchase, and is separate from consent to email, voice calls, or the general Website Terms. You may use the Services without enrolling in the Program. Email and in-app notifications may remain available.
If a business administrator enrolls another person's number, the administrator must first obtain that person's valid consent and authority. Before Semicolon may require the recipient to complete verification and may reject third-party enrollment.
The phone number used for system operational notifications is enrolled only by an authorized Before Semicolon operator who controls the number and records the deployment authorization.
3. Message frequency and charges
Message frequency varies based on account activity, selected event preferences, project activity, billing events, publishing activity, and service conditions. Some periods may have no messages; active or failed workflows may generate multiple messages.
Before Semicolon does not charge a separate fee for the Program, but message and data rates may apply under your wireless plan. Your carrier may impose other charges. Contact your carrier with questions about your plan.
4. Opting out
You may opt out at any time by:
- replying
STOP; - using another supported opt-out keyword such as
END,CANCEL,UNSUBSCRIBE, orQUIT; - disabling SMS in Before Semicolon CMS Business Settings; or
- making a clear request through
support@beforesemicolon.comor our contact page.
After an opt-out, we or the carrier may send one non-promotional message confirming the request. We will then stop Program messages to that number unless you provide valid new consent. Opting out of SMS does not cancel a subscription, close an account, or stop email or in-app notifications.
We honor clear revocation requests made through reasonable methods. If an inbound message is ambiguous, we may ask a limited clarifying question while suppressing further Program messages unless you affirm that you want them.
5. Help and support
Reply HELP or INFO for Program help. You may also contact:

Website: https://beforesemicolon.com/contact
Do not send passwords, verification codes, payment details, private project content, or other sensitive information in a reply.
6. Re-enrollment
Where supported, replying START, YES, SUBSCRIBE, or UNSTOP may begin re-enrollment. We may require you to review the current disclosure, affirmatively consent again, and reverify control of the number before messages resume.
An administrator cannot override your carrier or Program opt-out without valid new consent.
7. Mobile number responsibilities
You agree to provide a valid number you control and to promptly update or remove the number if:
- you stop using it;
- it is transferred or reassigned;
- your authority to use it ends; or
- another person becomes its subscriber or customary user.
Before Semicolon may suspend messaging after an invalid-number, deactivation, reassignment, abuse, or carrier signal. A later user of your former number is not bound by your consent.
8. Delivery and availability
Message delivery is not guaranteed and may be delayed, filtered, blocked, duplicated, or unavailable because of carrier networks, device settings, internet or power failures, provider outages, incorrect data, or events outside our control. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
The Program is not an emergency service, is not monitored as a two-way support channel, and must not be used to contact 911 or report a threat to life, safety, or property. Use the appropriate emergency service for urgent help.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, protect, and retain mobile information, consent evidence, and messaging activity.
We do not sell mobile information. We do not share your SMS opt-in, mobile number, or consent status with third parties or affiliates for their independent marketing or promotional purposes. We may use messaging platforms, carriers, hosting providers, and compliance vendors to operate and secure the Program.
10. Program countries and sender identity
The Program is intended for supported United States mobile numbers. When active, it uses a registered Before Semicolon-controlled U.S. sender. The displayed number is a dedicated messaging number and may differ from our public voice number.
Cape Verde and other countries are not included until Before Semicolon expressly announces support and completes a country-specific legal and carrier review. A future international Program may use an alphanumeric sender name. If the sender cannot receive replies, each message will provide a reasonable alternative opt-out method.
11. Suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate the Program or a specific enrollment if:
- you opt out;
- the number fails verification or appears reassigned;
- a carrier or messaging provider blocks the traffic;
- continued messaging could violate law, carrier rules, or these SMS Terms;
- the Program is abused; or
- the underlying Service or account ends.
We may change or discontinue the Program. Where required, we will provide notice before a material change.
12. Changes to these SMS Terms
We may update these SMS Terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date. A material expansion of message categories, especially marketing, will require any new consent required by law and will not be inferred from an existing transactional consent.
13. Disclaimers, liability, and disputes
The disclaimers, limitations of liability, governing law, venue, and dispute provisions in the Website and CMS Terms of Service apply to the Program. Nothing in these SMS Terms limits a right that cannot lawfully be limited.
