We work with people and businesses at many stages—from aspiring founders, solopreneurs, freelancers, contractors, and independent agents to growing teams and established organizations. The common thread is a desire to simplify operations, use technology more effectively, and build a business that can grow without unnecessary complexity.
We help people and teams do more by automating tedious, repetitive, and time-consuming work so they can focus on higher-value priorities. We also simplify workflows, help reallocate time and resources, modernize operations, connect fragmented tools, and—where practical—create a clearer central place to manage the business.
Yes. We work remotely and primarily serve English- and Portuguese-speaking clients, while remaining open to other markets where communication, service delivery, and compliance requirements can be supported. Some platform features, such as SMS messaging, may be limited by country, carrier, or regulatory availability.
Services and platform
We provide business systems design, workflow automation, custom software development, configurable platform solutions, software maintenance, systems integration, and technical consulting. We can also support marketing and sales operations through social media management, lead-management workflows, campaign and advertising automation, follow-up systems, and performance reporting.
You do not need to know before contacting us. We begin by assessing your business, workflows, tools, goals, and constraints. We then recommend the smallest, most practical combination of services needed to produce the desired result.
Not necessarily. We first determine whether your existing tools can be simplified, configured, or connected more effectively. When appropriate, we may recommend our own highly configurable platform, which can be adapted to different business workflows. Fully custom software is recommended only when existing tools or our platform cannot adequately meet the business need.
We provide our own configurable platform and use third-party tools when they are the best fit for the client. We do not limit every engagement to a fixed list of products. During the assessment, we evaluate whether an existing or proposed tool is reliable, secure, maintainable, and worth integrating before recommending that it become part of the solution.
Yes. We begin by assessing its maintainability, security, architecture, and reliability. Depending on what we find, we may recommend stabilizing the existing system, refactoring the highest-risk areas, or selectively rebuilding only what needs to change.
Yes. We build business websites, websites with forms and integrations, and more involved web applications with features such as accounts, payments, dashboards, booking workflows, and custom operational tools.
Working together
No. We can work alongside an existing engineering team by providing experienced technical consultation, architecture guidance, systems design, implementation support, and help with difficult technical decisions.
Yes. For businesses without an internal technical team, we can provide the technical leadership, practical guidance, implementation support, and operational ownership needed to move forward confidently.
Most engagements begin with a focused 60–90 minute consultation. We walk through your current workflows, tools, pain points, risks, priorities, and business goals so we can understand what actually needs to change.
We provide practical recommendations, explain the tradeoffs and likely impact, and outline a phased path forward. The next step may be advisory work, implementation, a platform configuration, a custom project, or an ongoing service arrangement.
The timeline depends on the scope and complexity of the work. A focused engagement may take as little as one week, while larger initiatives may be delivered collaboratively in phases over several months. Ongoing partnerships can continue longer as we maintain systems and identify new opportunities for improvement over time.
We do not have a universal minimum budget. Depending on the work, we may recommend a subscription, an upfront project budget, or a combination of both. The engagement structure, scope, price, and payment terms are defined after the initial consultation and documented in the project agreement.
Ownership and support
Ownership, licensing, access, and portability are defined clearly in the project agreement before work begins. The client owns their data, content, assets, and the client-specific deliverables identified in the agreement. Before Semicolon retains ownership of its platform, infrastructure, reusable systems, frameworks, and internal tools used to provide the service.
When a solution runs on our platform, the routine maintenance needed to keep it operational and aligned with the agreement is included as part of the service. New features, significant changes, and improvements outside the completed project scope are treated as additional projects.
The systems we manage are monitored continuously. Critical incidents are triaged when detected according to the response terms defined in the service agreement. Scheduled work, meetings, and nonurgent communication take place during normal business hours. Weekend availability is limited unless otherwise included in the agreement.
Yes. Clients can end ongoing services according to the terms of their agreement and take their eligible data, assets, and client-owned deliverables elsewhere. They may maintain those resources themselves or work with another provider. Any transition process, export assistance, notice period, and continuing infrastructure dependencies are defined in the agreement.
